Characteristics of the Location

The property is in close proximity to various tourist attractions, including Yamashita Park to its north and Yokohama Chinatown to its west, and the area attracts people from far and near. The area also has a number of hotels along the coast and provides a great view of Minato Mirai, the central business and shipping district of Yokohama. Due to its beautiful scenery, the area has a very positive image and is home to many bridal facilities.

The property is a one-minute walk from the Minato-Mirai Line Motomachi-Chukagai station and is therefore very conveniently located. In addition, various train lines, such as Minato-Mirai Line and Tokyu Toyoko Line, expanded their networks in March 2013 and February 2014 and further improved the area’s accessibility.

Property Characteristics

The property’s only tenant is Barneys New York, an innovative specialty store for luxury designer brands operated by Barneys Japan.

The property is the second Barneys New York store to open in Japan, following the first store in Shinjuku. In addition to the two stores, as of July 2014, Barneys New York also had stores in Ginza, Kobe and Fukuoka as well as outlet stores in Japan, and among the existing stores in Japan, the property is the largest and considered a flagship store for Barneys Japan.

The property has undergone a series of renovations since November 2013, and its concept is to attract a diverse base of customers in the neighboring areas to casually stop by.

The location of the property is also well-suited for various types of service businesses including dress salons, jewelry stores, interior goods stores, showrooms and wedding facilities.
